About the Role

The Design Engineer will work within the project team to prepare detailed civil engineering construction plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications for a range of land development projects under the supervision of a Project Engineer. The design engineer will showcase their flexibility and creativity by being engaged across the project lifecycle; this includes preliminary engineering, entitlements, design development, construction support, and project closeout. The Design Engineer will also have the opportunity to build their communication and leadership skills by attending project meetings and preparing reports and project related presentation materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions to project challenges
  • Preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents
  • Coordination with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application
  • Preparation of grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Research regulatory requirements and design standards
  • Perform detailed and complex calculations for storm water facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements
  • Preparation of detailed technical reports and project presentation materials
  • Assist project engineers in completing projects I a timely manner and within project budgets
  • Attend project meetings

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in site development design
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AutoCAD Civil 3D for site development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • A desire and/or ability to work in teams to accomplish shared goals
  • Self-motivated with the ability and desire to deliver excellent client service
  • Professional in Engineering (PE) license preferred
