Barghausen was contracted by Integrity Land, LLC for the Marquee mixed-use project. This 5-acre, multi-phased commercial and residential development is located next to highway 169 in Maple Valley, WA. The first phase included a commercial retail development that currently hosts a Starbucks location and a two story office building for Valley Medical Center. The second phase (not completed yet) includes two multi-family residential buildings and an amenities building.
We provided civil engineering, land surveying, land use planning and landscape architecture services for the development of the buildings and surrounding parking areas. The development timeline intersected with the expansion of the nearby highway, so construction coordination with public agencies was crucial. Throughout the project we coordinated closely with the City of Maple Valley to accomplish the frontage improvements along highway 169. The civil engineering also included stormwater improvements that incorporated a BioPod system into the design as a method of stormwater runoff treatment , which helped our client’s overall budget. The BioPod stormwater system had never been implemented within Maple Valley, but we were able to work with the City to approve the new system.
