Sunrise Marketplace Commercial Retail Center

Citrus Heights, CA

Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Commercial | 7,870 sf

A new commercial center with a drive-thru was recently added to the Sunrise strip in Citrus Heights, California. The commercial space is located just north of the Sunrise shopping center, nextdoor to the Copperwood Square Mall. Barghausen provided civil engineering, architecture, structural engineering and landscape architecture services for the 7,870 sf addition to the shopping plaza. The design also included the demolition of a structure on site and a new 2,187 sf Starbucks with a drive-thru. Our architects designed the multi-tenant retail building to accommodate future customization for each business space. Stormwater plans included catch basins and a 320 gallon grease interceptor. The extensive landscape plans included many different species of plants to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the shopping center. Site improvements included pedestrian pathways with canopies, creative outdoor gathering spaces, a new commercial driveway and parking lot with 32 stalls. The city of Citrus Heights has future plans of converting this commercial hub to a mixed-use “premier destination to shop, work, live and play.”
