    • Making sure we are compliant with security measures and best practices in the IT industry. This also includes actualizing all our different OS and firmware versions to the most current and stable solution.

    • Creating a Disaster Recovery Plan, to help increase our recovery speeds if a major issue were to arise.

What interests you the most about the field of IT?

  • I like ALL of the work of a Systems Administrator. Learning new skills or working for hours on something hard until you make it work is a great motivation for me. I'm also interested in learning more about being a good leader and managing an IT Department, that's why I'm completing a Master's in IT Management.

How do you stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in technology?

  • TikTok (Just Kidding).  -There are many resources these days so that you can stay up to date with all the new developments in technology. The classes I'm taking in my master's degree are helping me to link the IT work/projects that we do with the business perspective and how to make ourselves more productive and useful for the company. Microsoft offers very interesting seminars and training opportunities that most of the time are free. Once I finish school, I plan on taking new certifications to continue improving my skills, for example, to continue the Cisco path, as I have a CCNA, I would like to pursue the CCNP. Also, the WatchGuard Certification can be very beneficial for our team, so having a watchguard Certified Tech in the IT Department will be a great addition!

What is your favorite aspect about working at Barghausen?

I just feel that everyone is doing their best to make the company successful and grow as a professional at the same time. I'm thankful that I can do what I love surrounded by good people.
