The Challenge

The Tahoma Market offers much more than a typical gas station or convenience store.  Designed to be compatible with the adjacent Emerald Queen Casino, the Tahoma Market is a modern neighborhood market with high ceilings and bright, well-lit areas.

Barghausen was contracted by Marine View Ventures, Inc. for its Tahoma Market project—one of the largest facilities in the United States. The project included a 6.7-acre development of a 12,000 square foot convenience and grocery store with facilities for retail gasoline and an automatic car wash.

Of course, a project of this magnitude came with unique challenges. First, the development site was located within the tribal lands of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians. In addition, our team had to accommodate for flood plain management, stream crossing, mass grading, and road and transportation improvements.
