The Challenge
Barghausen was contracted by our customer, Chick-fil-A and Madison Development Group, LLC for the Chick-fil-A and Totem Lake Retail project in Kirkland, WA—which included a quick serve restaurant, medical clinic, and mattress retailer.
The project itself posed several unique challenges to the team at Barghausen, including:
- Perched groundwater
- Sewer requirements that were revised multiple times during construction for both sites
- Concurrent permit processing and construction, which required coordination efforts between two developers
