MultiCare is the largest not-for-profit health care system in Washington state. The locally-owned organization has served communities in Washington since the late 1800's. With 11 hospitals throughout the Pacific Northwest, MultiCare is committed to “Partnering for Healing and a Healthy Future”. In order to improve access to emergency care, MultiCare has opened multiple free-standing emergency centers in communities throughout western Washington. These new healthcare additions will offer shorter wait times, 24/7 emergency care, and on site diagnostic services.

Barghausen partnered with PhiloWilke to provide a range of services for five free-standing emergency centers. Our involvement included civil engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture and construction administration services. While each site had it's differences, the finished product was nearly identical; each center was right under 10,000 sf and incorporated the maximum amount of exam rooms. Our team conducted research on each site to observe engineering and environmental considerations related to each development. We designed civil, demolition, sewer, grading and storm drainage, landscape and irrigation, TESC, frontage improvements and site plans for three of the five standalone centers. Barghausen is proud to play a role in developing accessible healthcare in Washington.
