The Habit Burger Grill

University Place, WA

Commercial, Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture | 2,600 SF

Habit Burger recently celebrated the grand opening of their University Place location. The new restaurant is located on the highly traveled Bridgepoint Way, near the Green Firs Towne Center. This two-phased project includes two quick-serve restaurants on adjacent parcels, Chipotle and Habit Burger.

Barghausen partnered with Confluent Development to provide civil engineering, land surveying, and landscape architecture services for the project. The development started with the removal of an existing 5,000+ SF restaurant (formerly known as Massimo, or Captain Nemo's from years prior). Our team assisted with the site plan for the 2,600 SF Habit Burger restaurant that offers a drive-thru and 25 parking spaces. The drive-thru design needed close coordination with the architect and contractor due to unique requirements.

Our team prepared plans for grading, paving, horizontal control, storm drainage, detention and water quality treatment, sanitary sewer services, grease interceptor layout, domestic water services and the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP).

Frontage improvements included sidewalk upgrades, driveway access improvements, ADA ramps, landscape improvements and storm and utility adjustments. Due to the topography on the site, a retaining wall along the southern side of the lot was required.

Our landscape team designed the planting plans and irrigation system for the site. Landscape plans required collaboration with adjacent property owners to troubleshoot existing trees along boundary lines. An arborist was brought in to assist with the removal process.
