Sumner Ridge

Located in one of the most dynamic industrial areas in the country, the Sumner Ridge project consists of two substantial 30’ clear-height warehouse additions situated on a 70-acre site. Barghausen partnered with Bertch Capital Partners, LLC, for the civil engineering, landscape architecture, land surveying and land use planning of the site. Building A consists of 113,500 sf with 28 dock doors and Building B is 110,000 sf with 27 dock doors. The design for Building B included tilted walls, a main office with a second floor mezzanine, a satellite production office and 18” slabs for machining equipment. The civil engineering included grading, paving, erosion control plans, roadway plans, utility plans and stormwater plans. The grading plans required four new retaining walls and the reconstruction of a damaged retaining wall. The landscape architecture included construction and landscape irrigation plans. The hillsides required extensive reforestation to remove non-native species and replant native trees and shrubs. The Sumner Ridge site was pre-leased in record time, before construction began. Situated 100’ above the Green River valley, with views of Mt. Rainier, proximity to SR 167 and the Port of Tacoma, this is considered an unmatched location for industrial occupants.
